Would you like to volunteer your time and talents to help Ambler Main Street serve the community? We are always in need of willing and talented people that desire to help make Ambler a great hometown. We have seven different committees on which to serve:
- MARKETING—a committee responsible for developing and executing a plan to market Ambler as a desirable place to live, shop and invest.
- MEMBERSHIP—a committee to recruit both individual and business members.
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT—a committee to strengthen existing businesses and recruit new ones.
- DESIGN—a committee to provide leadership and guidance in all areas of appearance within Ambler, including support for historic buildings.
- FUND RAISING—a committee to develop and implement a plan for raising needed funds.
- VOLUNTEER—a committee to recruit volunteers for these committees and for the Special Events of the year.
- SPECIAL EVENTS—a committee developed to promote a sense of community in Ambler and especially downtown Ambler, and to highlight Ambler as a viable business community.
THE FOLLOWING VOLUNTEERS ARE ALSO NEEDED: - Beautification — Someone who would water the plants along Butler Ave. on Thursdays and/or Saturdays during the months of May thru September. It would take no more than an hour a day.
- Supervisor— Someone who would coordinate and direct the “Clean-up” days, which happen approximately once a month on Saturdays from April through November. Basically, this involves supervising the volunteers in the clean-up and planting tasks along Butler Avenue. Usually Clean-ups are done between the hours of 8:00am and 11:00am.
- Co-Chair people---One (or more), who would assist at putting on Oktoberfest. Skills needed are a willingness to work with people, and organizational skills. In 2002 Oktoberfest will be held on September 15th from 12:00Noon-5:00pm.
- Co-coordinator — Also a person to coordinate and supervise volunteers who will work on the following committees at Oktoberfest :
- Committee on FOOD
- Committee for the BEER GARDEN
- Committee to SET UP for the day—(2hours before the event)
- Committee to CLEAN UP after the event (one hour of work after)
