Get into the Irish spirit, with a free play reading at Act II Playhouse: SEA MARKS by Gardner McKay.
Act II Playhouse will present a seated reading of the play SEA MARKS by Gardner McKay. It's the poignant, humorous story of a fisherman on a remote Irish island who falls in love with and courts a woman he's seen only once through his letters to her.
ABOUT THE PLAY: Colm Primrose is a man with holes in his socks, a working man who is proud of it. His home is a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, a place where there are no last names and no electricity. Raised by a man he calls The MacAfee, Primrose has never courted or married a girl. Then he meets a city woman and begins writing to her. His letters are poetic. She is smitten. She returns to the island to visit, and persuades him to visit her in the city. --From The Virginian-Pilot
The reading of SEA MARKS is at Act II Playhouse, 56 E. Butler Avenue in Ambler at 7 PM with discussion to follow. Admission is free.
Afterwards, continue your St. Patrick's Day celebration by having a pint down the street at The Shanachie Pub & Restaurant. |
